Véronique Bertile 

Véronique BERTILE

 

Véronique Bertile is a senior lecturer/associate professor in public law at the University of Bordeaux. Her PhD dissertation entitled "Regional or minority languages and the Constitution. France, Spain and Italy" was published by Bruylant in 2008. She has also written numerous articles on the legal treatment of regional languages (proceedings, co-authored books, articles in journals). She was auditioned by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council for her report "Valuing overseas territories languages for better social cohesion". She is a member of the Scientific Board of the Observatory of Linguistic Practices (DGLFLF).

 


Alexandre Duchêne 

Alexandre DUCHÊNE

 

Alexandre Duchêne is a full professor of sociology of language at Fribourg University and Co-Director of the Plurilingualism Institute. His research, at the crossroads between language sciences and social sciences, focuses on the role of language in producing social differences and inequalities. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of the Sociology of Language and co-directs the series The Politics of Language with Deborah Cameron at Routledge. A new book published under the collective name of B.A.S.S. Meier-Lorente-Muth-Duchêne and entitled Figures of Interpretation will be published soon by Multilingual Matters.



Jean-Pierre Pichette

Jean-Pierre PICHETTE

 

Ethnologist, professor of oral literature at Sudbury University (Ontario) before becoming the Cofram Canada Research Chair at Sainte-Anne University (Nova Scotia), Jean-Pierre Pichette is a founding member of the Société Charlevoix, publisher of Les Cahiers Charlevoix (Puo) and Rabaska, a journal of ethnology of French America, and a dozen co-authored books and conference proceedings, including L'Œuvre de Germain Lemieux (1993), Entre Beauce et Acadie (2001), Le Patrimoine religieux de la Nouvelle-Écosse (2007), La Résistance des marges (2009), Éditer des contes de tradition orale (2010), L'Apport des prêtres et des religieux au patrimoine des minorités (2013-2014) and Présence de Marius Barbeau, 2015). He is continuing the publishing programme of his oral literature corpus (Éclore), of which a first volume has been published: Ah! si l'amour prenait racine. Chansons populaires du Nouvel-Ontario (Pul, 2016). He has also published Le Guide raisonné des jurons (1980), L'Observance des conseils du maître (1991), Le Répertoire ethnologique de l'Ontario français (1992) and, more recently, La Danse de l'aîné célibataire ou la résistance des marges (Pul, 2019) and Germain Lemieux sur le billochet. Confessions d'un passeur de mémoire (Pul 2020).
